Executive will lead association into its next chapter of growth and impact
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Following the recent announcement of the potential sale (pending regulatory approval) of the CompTIA brand and its certification and training products to a private equity partnership, the association is today launching an industry-wide, internal and external, search for a new CEO, the appointment of which is contingent on the sale being approved and completed.
The individual selected would succeed Todd Thibodeaux, current president and CEO, who will be departing (pending finalization of the sale), to head the newly formed for-profit certification and training company owned by the private equity buyers.
"This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to grow the association from a strong base of programs and engagement to become a truly indispensable, broad-based resource for the global IT channel. A reimagined model for the association will deliver even more impactful programs with a much greater focus,” said Scott Barlow, Vice Chair of the CompTIA Board and Chair of the CEO Search Committee.
Barlow, Global VP MSP and Cloud Alliances, Sophos, is joined on the search committee by fellow CompTIA board members Toni Clayton-Hine, CMO, EY, and Jason Magee, formerly CEO of ConnectWise, representing the perspective of the broader member community on the committee is former CompTIA Member of the Year John Tippett, Chief Operating Officer, Cytracom. The search will be administered by Association Strategies, Inc., of Alexandria, VA.
