CompTIA returns to ASU+GSV Summit as Matterhorn Sponsor

Apr 5, 2023

Chief Product Officer Thomas Reilly featured panelist at global conference

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce, is pleased to announce its participation in the 2023 ASU+GSV Summit April 17-19 in San Diego.

CompTIA, which has issued more that 2 million vendor-neutral certifications worldwide, works with public and private organizations across multiple industries to deliver technology skilling and reskilling solutions.

In addition to being a Matterhorn Sponsor of the annual event, Thomas Reilly, chief product officer at CompTIA, will participate on a workforce development training panel titled A Capability Crisis: Addressing Skill Shortages for In-Demand Careers at 2:50 pm on Tuesday, April 18, in Harbor B, Level 2.

Reilly is joined on the panel by Lina Bankert from Boston Consulting Group, Michael Hansen from Cengage Group, Adanna Ukah from Chegg, and Sanjay Srivastava from Vocareum Inc. The panel will be moderated by Chris Kibarian, CEO of Lightcast.

This panel will discuss how organizations can be innovative and proactive when it comes to upskilling and reskilling workers to solve these skills gaps.

“Much of what happens today is organizations poaching tech talent from each other, which doesn’t help increase the talent pipeline,” said Reilly. “CompTIA is heavily invested in enlarging the talent pipeline by helping people overcome the confidence gap and see themselves in a great technology career. We are uniquely positioned to provide direction because we work at the intersection of job seekers, companies, workforce boards, academic institutions, and technology certification and education.”

The ASU+GSV Summit is the premier global event focused on technology innovation in digital learning and workforce skills. Launched in 2010 with a collaboration between Arizona State University (ASU) and Global Silicon Valley (GSV), the annual summit connects leading minds focused on transforming society and business around learning and work. Educators, investors, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs from around the world come together to innovate the future of education for all.

In addition to participating in the panel, CompTIA experts will be on hand in Booth 241 to discuss training and workforce development solutions with conference attendees.
