Leader in IT skills training and certification prepares instructors to deliver cybersecurity education
ISLAMABAD – Twenty master instructors from across Pakistan are engaged in advanced cybersecurity training sponsored by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce.
The program is raising awareness of the need for IT professionals to strengthen their cybersecurity skills with the latest industry training and certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, so they can keep organisations safe from cyberattacks. Upon completing the training the 20 senior instructors will share their newly acquired knowledge with others throughout Pakistan’s public and private sectors.
“Cyber criminals and hackers are on the offensive around the world and no entity, regardless of industry, location or size, is safe from these threats,” said Graham Hunter, CompTIA vice president for workforce development in EMEA, APAC and Canada. “That is why it is critically important to build robust cyber capabilities throughout the community of IT professionals. CompTIA is committed to working with our local partners in Pakistan to deliver the latest and best cybersecurity training and certification.”
CompTIA is providing the instructors with complementary learning content, including CompTIA CertMaster Learn, a comprehensive eLearning solution, and CompTIA CertMaster Labs, which help learners gain hands-on experience with real equipment and software. Instructors will receive complementary exam vouchers for CompTIA Security+, a globally trusted, vendor-neutral certification that validates the foundational skills necessary to perform core security functions. Some 625,000 IT professionals around the world are CompTIA Security+ certified.
“CompTIA Security+ emphasizes the hands-on ability to determine security vulnerabilities, set appropriate controls and evaluate compliance to reduce an organization’s risk,” said Pradipto Chakrabarty, CompTIA’s director for global business development in the region. “IT professionals who are CompTIA Security+ certified have demonstrated their ability to secure applications, networks and devices, perform threat analysis, respond with risk management and mitigation and perform other critical cybersecurity tasks.”
CompTIA is the global leader in vendor-neutral technical certifications and training in skills ranging from IT support and networking to cybersecurity and cloud computing. Nearly 2.8 million CompTIA certifications have been awarded to technology professionals in 247 countries around the world. CompTIA works closely with thousands of academic, training and content partners to ensure students and professionals have the tools they need to enter and excel in the tech workforce.
